"Kanakam"
This is an heirloom edition of the Kanjivaram saree, almost a thousand floral motifs have been woven all over the saree in Kanakam (Gold) Zari threads using the Kadhwa weaving technique. The Zari motifs give the saree a striking golden shine which makes this saree perfect for special occasions. The royal red border & pallav has been fused with gold zari threads giving it a beautiful golden blue sheen. When closely looked at the border has intricate details, Leheria patterns have been made using gold zari threads and red threads, the flowers represent auspiciousness and happiness. The pallav has almost a hundred deepak/deeya (oil lamps) motifs woven upon it, Deepaks in India are a symbol of a bright future.
Kanjivaram Sarees
Kanjivaram sarees are woven from mulberry silk thread and the Zari of south India, the speciality of this saree is that the border and the pallav are woven separately and later joined together. The golden lustre of the zari threads. The pallavas colour is different in colour than that of the saree, it gives a graceful contrast. The medieval Indian literatures associated kanjivaram fabrics with gods.
